• Verifies Physician order and identifies patient as per CH policy.
• Explains the function and process of EKG exams to patients.
• Attaches EKG electrodes to patients to monitor heart activity.
• Assists with administration of stress tests.
• Administers and removes/downloads holter monitors.
• Logs and reviews test data and places the completed EKG in the system.
• Documents procedure in medical record including placement of ECG tracings within inpatient charts and department files.
• Completes necessary departmental clerical and filing duties.

• High School diploma or GED
• Completion of EKG Technician certification exam within one year of hire.
• One year of patient care hospital experience.
• BLS
