  • Assigns and instructs escort staff based on specific needs of transport.
  • Utilizes communication equipment to meet transportation department goals.
  • Assigns and instructs  escort staff members on specific needs of transport determined by age and other factors.
  • Informs staff of special transport needs required for specific routes.
  • Resolves dispatching issues and problems quickly and effectively.
  • Discusses patient issues, specific requests, and concerns with supervisor.
  • Initiates action to correct issues and any problems which may interfere with the proper functioning of communication equipment and patient transport.


  • Frequent physical demands include:

    Occasional physical demands include: Standing , Walking , Climbing (e.g., stairs or ladders) , Carry objects , Push/Pull , Twisting , Bending , Reaching forward , Reaching overhead , Squat/kneel/crawl , Wrist position deviation , Pinching/fine motor activities

    Continuous physical demands include: Sitting , Keyboard use/repetitive motion , Talk or Hear

    Lifting Floor to Waist 15 lbs. Lifting Waist Level and Above 10 lbs.



  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • Must have excellent phone and customer service skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to interact, motivate and communicate with a wide range of staff and hospital personnel in a professional manner.
  • Possesses effective organizational skills necessary to plan, organize, coordinate and direct the activities of transport requests.
  • Demonstrates basic clerical skills including typing.
  • Possesses basic data entry experience, and able to operate in a fast paced environment.
