Overview

Addressing the need for behavioral health services in our community, the providers at Capital Health Behavioral Health Specialists provide compassionate psychiatric care and counseling services. We are currently seeking a Behavioral Health Specialist, LCSW to join our team in Bordentown, NJ to conduct psychosocial assessments and provide treatment, counseling, and psychotherapy services to individuals, groups, and families; Monday-Friday, no weekends!

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates programs and treatments in support of patients and families; coordinates programmatic growth through an interdisciplinary team to promote and support the needs of individual departments, stakeholders, patients and families.
  • Continually reviews regulatory requirements for clinical social work services to assure appropriate and mandatory services are provided and documented.  Improves departmental and system design and functioning and meets regulatory requirements.
  • Provides clinical supervision.
  • Coordinates staff development and performance improvement program activities to increase self knowledge, staff, and colleague awareness of biological, psychological and social issues and functioning.
  • Assess the psychosocial functioning and needs of patients and their family members and formulates and implements a treatment plan.  Conducts mental status examinations and formulates DSM V related diagnoses.
  • Identifies the patient's problems, strengths, weaknesses, coping skills and assistance needed.
  • Conducts psychosocial assessments and provides psychosocial treatment to a wide variety of individuals from various socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, educational and other diverse backgrounds.
  • Implements treatment modalities in working with individuals, families and groups who are experiencing a variety of psychiatric, medical and social problems to achieve treatment goals.
  • Provides counseling and/or psychotherapy services to individuals, groups and families. 

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work.
  • Five years experience in an independent practice of clinical social work in a mental health setting or in a hospital based setting performing medical crisis counseling and discharge planning.
  • Two years experience in a mental health setting or in a hospital based setting developing, implementing and coordinating programs and services to treat and support patients and their families.
  • Licensed Social Worker required.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Excel, Power-Point and Outlook.
